Buffalo Niagara Plastic Surgeons
Joel H. Paull, DDS, MD, JD, LLM, MBA, FACS, FICS
Dr. Joel Paull is at heart a diagnostician and not just in medicine. His area of expertise is analysis and finding creative, elegant, and low-risk solutions.
A native of Buffalo, Dr. Paull received his Undergraduate degree, his Dental degree, and his Medical Degree from SUNY at Buffalo. He continued in General Surgery and then Plastic Surgery, the latter under Dr. Clem DeFelice, a noted and respected Plastic Surgeon and educator.
Dr. Paull opened a private practice in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. He became Board-Certified in Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. When new techniques emerged Dr. Paull would go to the source, such as Dr. Carl Hartrampf for breast reconstruction with living tissue in Atlanta or Dr. Yves-Gerard Illouz for liposuction in Paris. In 1992 an injury forced him to retire from the Operating Room. It was at that time he became associated with Dr. Robert Perry.
With a drive to continue his personal development, Dr. Paull attended law school at SUNY at Buffalo and received his JD. An LLM in health law from Loyola University in Chicago was followed by an MBA from SUNY at Buffalo. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1997, the District Court of the Western District of New York and the Supreme Court of the United Stated in 2001. He has been of counsel to the firm of Gross, Shuman, Brizdle, and Gilfillan in Buffalo, New York, for the past twenty years.
After an illustrious career in Plastic Surgery, he retired from medical practice July 1, 2021.
“A consultation for aesthetic surgery is truly a meeting of the minds — the development of a connection between patient and surgeon. Your job is to tell us what you want; our job is to tell you what’s possible, reasonable, and, above all, safe.
We are privileged to have an outstanding team of medical professionals who are caring, exceptionally talented, and driven to help you look and feel your very best.”
– Robert J. Perry, MD FACS
